During a time of growing public awareness of the capabilities and ubiquitous nature of technology aided surveillance, I made images of strangers in and around my hometown. I was not present at the time the image was made, rather I rigged camera traps that would make an image any time movement was detected in front of the lens. What results are portraits of people gradually realizing that they are being photographed, or at least some form of technology has appeared in their world, but the author and ultimate intentions of the images remain ambiguous and anonymous.
